I almost kept this...counting down to tomorrow's update!
By now, you may have taken a peek at the new shop page. Right now, it's locked, so that we can add and edit listings without showing you the mess we've made trying to sort out the best way to organize our new shop. It's a work in progress, but things are coming together just in time for our first update in the new shop!
This update will be on the smaller side, as we all learn to use the new shop. Thankfully, small does not mean boring! I've dyed up some special yarns, and here is a little preview of what I wanted to keep for myself (but will manage to part with!)
By now, I think all of the world (or anyone who cares) knows how much I love peachy/pinky/rusty colours. I love them, and have recently realized the colour mixing potential in knitting a pair of socks with 4 or 5 different mini skeins. It's very exciting!
These skeins were the happy result of some experimenting I've been doing. They are a prototype of a future colour, but this specific colour won't appear again. A friend came up with the name, which I love. It just so happens that these acid greens and yellows are some of my favourite accent colours, they'd make a great stripe on any pair of socks!
I don't need to say much about this base. I love it, and am in awe of the beautiful projects that have been knit in this yarn already! As I type, my Ando cardigan is soaking, at last ready for blocking. It was a joy to knit this light and rustic yarn, and I know it will be the same to wear. I've dyed it up in a little selection of colours, all jumper quantities (π) and am particularly digging these skeins of Lydia.
This subtle colour is so many things all at the same time; silver green, gold, grey, stone...it's one of those colours that changes with the light and with your mood. I did want to keep it and knit myself a 'mood sweater' but I must learn self control!
Superwash Merino 4 ply will only be available in this update! I've dyed up a limited quantity and it's all going into the shop tomorrow. This beautiful colourway reminded us of the tiny wild orchids that grow in fields and meadows throughout Grey County. Also, it's just awesome!
This one was tough, I'm a sucker for autumnal colours and just love those bright streaks of salmon and gold π
I love the way that Merino Lace takes dye; colours always come out so rich and varried. This colour was one my happy accidents. There's so much going on in each skein, knitting this up will be so much fun! Merino Lace is marked down to $25 in this update. I still have a little in stock, and will continue to dye this base until I run out. It's actually a favourite yarn of mine, I'll be sad to see it go, but it's time to change up some bases and make room for new yarns! Enjoy $10 off while this base remains in stock.
Reflections is an 'in progress' colourway, so don't be alarmed by how different this batch is from the yarn I shared on Instagram last week. Viola colourways are always evolving and changing, and these are prototypes of a future colour. For now, they are quite different, but both beautiful!
That's it for my favourites this time. We're 24 hours away from going live and I'm off to check everything over one last time. Praparing for this update has been so exciting for us, and we can't wait to share the new store with you, as well as hear any feedback you may have. If you have any suggestions for us following tomorrow's updates, we'd love to hear them!
Tomorrow (August 23rd) at 10am EDT, I will remove the password protection so that everyone can access the page and shop! In an attempt to streamline shipping calculations and refunds, we have converted all prices to Canadian Dollars. Some prices have increased slightly, to accommodate raising materials costs on our end.
Bases and their price in Candian Dollars will be as follows:
- cashmere + silk $35
- sock $33
- superwash merino 4 ply $32
- sock minis $9
- merino lace $25 (on sale from $35!)
Just a few more important notes before I sign off: Our fancy new store will accept Visa/MC/Amex/PayPal and even Apple pay. You won't have to create an account, so checkout can still be speedy.
