SHADOW DK + a shop Update
By now, there is a good chance that you already know about the upcoming shop update. I'll be adding lots of good stuff to the etsy store on ...
Tuesday, May 23rd @ 6 pm EST
I've dyed up lots of Sock yarn, Sock Minis, Mohair Lace and a brand new yarn called Shadow DK!
Shadow is a beautiful blend of 50% Polwarth / 35% Wensleydale / 15% Zwartbles, spun by my dear friends at John Arbon Textiles. Zwartbles fleece is naturally a very dark black / brown colour, and the small 15% in this yarn gives the undyed skeins a silvery glow...
I love dyeing naturally coloured yarns; they always come out more rich are interesting! Each colour I've dyed has come out a cool and grey tinged version of its normal self ... as if in shadow 😉
Another wonderful characteristic that little bit of Zwartbles gives to this yarn is a sprinkling of tiny little charcoal fibers. Hold your skein up close and you'll find them in there, fading in and out from light to dark.
Shadow is a DK weight yarn, each 100g skeins is 283 m (309 y) and will be listed for $25 USD. Perfect for a warm and woolly jumper, or wintery accessories...I know it's not the right time of year, but always good to be prepared!
This yarn is a light and bouncy and smooth 3 ply, a lovely balance of the softness of Polwarth with the strength and durability of Wensleydale.
I'll be sharing more previews of Shadow DK very soon, so keep an eye here and over in the Ravelry group. As usual, I will also be posting previews of some of my favourite yarns and colours that are headed for the shop update. Stay tuned!
