I almost kept this (a very big update coming tomorrow!) 😆
Tomorrow is an exciting day. Here at Viola HQ, we've been working towards it since the last update...months ago. It will be the second shop update here in the new online store. As promised, it's going to be a big one!
Not only have we been dyeing lots and lots of yarn, but we have also used the past couple of months to iron out some kinks in our new store. Growing into our new website is still a work in progress, but we're headed in the right direction (faster and more convenient checkout being the goal!) Now that we have a better idea of how it all works, we're feeling ready for a whopper of an update!
For anyone who missed my news about the store, here's what to expect if you're participating in tomorrow's update...
- At the moment, we have the shop password protected. This is so that we can make edits and triple check before it all goes live. Etsy used to allow us to upload all listings at the same time, but not Squarespace. So this is also the quickest way to unveil all the yarn at the same time.
- When you are viewing the shop's main page (or category page, e.g. 'Merino Fingering') anything that is already sold out will be clearly marked, so that you don't waste any time clicking on sold out listings.
- At this time, we are not able to display item quantities on the shop's main page or category pages. To find out if there are 5 or 10, you'll still have to click on the listing and check the quantity. We're still working on this, but it's not a quick fix.
- You won't be able to check out if an item in your cart has become sold out. You will have to remove all sold out items from your cart before continuing to check out. This is a total bummer, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. We are continuing to work on this problem, and will keep you updated of any changes. In the mean time, please remember that we do combine shipping. For all the details on combined shipping please read Shipping + Handling.
